Directors
Kay Taylor
CMCA, AMS, PCAM
Kay joined Slatter Management Services, Inc. in November 2005 after relocating from London, England. Prior to Kay’s move to North Carolina she gained customer service and management experience as Sales Manager for a large hardware company. Since joining Slatter Management, Kay has acquired a wealth of community management knowledge and education. Kay has been awarded her CMCA, AMS and PCAM designations. Kay's experience as an Administrative Assistant, a Community Manager, and Director of Operations provides her with key insights into the industry and lays a solid foundation for her role of President.
Megan Clapp
CMCA, AMS, PCAM
Megan Clapp joined Slatter Management in September of 2013. She moved to North Carolina in 2010 from California where she was born and raised. Megan has an Associate's Degree in Social Sciences and a Bachelor’s of Science Degree with a Specialization in Human Services from Northeastern University. She prides herself on customer service, problem solving, and teamwork. Megan leads the Slatter Team in training staff on new systems, policies, and procedures. She is always on top of new innovative ways to better our customer service for our Associations. Megan has served on several committees for the NC-CAI Chapter and continues to educate herself on the evolving HOA industry.
Phyllis Barber
CMCA
Phyllis joined Slatter Management Services, Inc. in April 2002, bringing five years of experience in community management accounting. She studied accounting at GTCC and has since earned her CMCA certification. Phyllis is a Certified Manager of Community Associations and has completed several industry courses, including M-100 (Essentials of Community Association Management), M-206 (Financial Management), and M-310 (Management Company Administration).
Outside of work, Phyllis enjoys spending time with her family, managing her farm, and participating in ministry activities.
Dean Hardy
Dean joined Slatter Management Services, Inc. in October 2005. Dean spent 10 years in Maintenance Management. His skills have provided Slatter Management with a skilled and professional maintenance team. Dean is also the manager of A-1 Pool Service, Inc., servicing private and commercial pools. Our NC Certified Pool Operators have over 30 years of combined experience providing hassle free year round, seasonal maintenance, repairs and pool supplies.

Jacqueline Peatross-Young
CMCA
Jacqueline began her career with Slatter Management Services, Inc. in 2001, after obtaining an associate's degree in business and managing apartment communities for 10 years in which she earned her CAM. Jacqueline's solid organizational and time management skills, along with her unique skill set for problem solving is very beneficial for our communities.
Janine Matthews
CMCA, AMS
Janine was raised in Virginia Beach, Virginia. After spending 13 years in the Cellular Industry as a District Manager, Janine changed career paths to the Association Management Industry. Janine has been in Association Management for 9 years and brings attention to detail and exceptional customer service to her portfolio of Associations. Janine has earned her CMCA, AMS designations and has successfully completed the M201, M203, and M206 classes. “No Excuses, No Explanations” -Tony Dungy.
Mary Giddings
CMCA
Mary joined Slatter Management in February 2016. She is a true people person and a Greensboro native. Mary brings with her to Slatter extensive experience in Customer Service gained through her service in Wholesale Distribution Sales, Account Management, and New Home Sales.
Jennifer Smith
CMCA
Jennifer Smith joined Slatter Management in 2018 and currently holds the position of on-site Property and Operations Manager for Lake Jeanette Association, Inc. In this capacity, she oversees daily operations, coordinates with vendors, and ensures compliance with community regulations, while assisting the Board of Directors in effective governance and strategic decision-making.
Jennifer has completed the M-100 course and has attained the Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA) designation. With extensive experience in association management, she is recognized for her professionalism and efficiency, as well as her approachable demeanor, which fosters trust, collaboration, and strong community relationships.
Carol Johnson
CMCA
Carol graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Minor in Marketing. She has 20 plus years of customer service experience and Key Accounts Management and takes a hands on approach to Community Management. Carol has an eye for attention to detail and values relationship building
Karie Sams
CMCA
Karie joined Slatter Management Services, Inc. in June 2018. She recently moved back from Syracuse, NY to be closer to her family. She came to Slatter Management with an extensive customer service background of 25 years ranging from retail, travel industry, Parks & Recreation, and medical call center. Prior to moving back to North Carolina, Karie trained in Emergency Communications. Karie is a dedicated team player and will extend her hand to help out in any area that she can. She loves working with the public and likes to preserve harmony in all situations. Karie continues to grow with Slatter Management and will continue to further her education in homeowner’s association management.
Karen Too-a-Foo
CMCA
Karen is a graduate of the University of Florida, Go Gators! She has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Resource Development and is a licensed Real Estate Agent in the state of North Carolina. One of her proudest moments is having worked as a civilian contractor for The Florida Army National Guard as a Budget Analyst supporting and taking care of our troops overseas. Karen joined Slatter in May 2022 with six years in property management and over 20 years in various customer service roles throughout her career. When not at work Karen is passionate about her family, cooking and the beach!
Emma Ferguson
CMCA
Emma joined SMS in July 2021 and is a British native having relocated to NC in 2001. Emma’s background in the real estate industry as a licensed NC Realtor brings a commitment to integrity, customer engagement and ethical responsibility. As a member of the SMS team of HOA community managers, she maintains her obligation to all the communities and boards she serves with dedication and pride, along with a sharp wit and sense of humor.
Nelsy Loya-Morales
CMCA
Nelsy joined Slatter Management Services Inc. in August of 2022. She has extensive customer service experience with a background in Residential Real Estate and Property Management. Her drive, determination, and attention-to-detail are just a few of the strengths that she has brought to her role as a Community Association Manager. Nelsy is all smiles in and out of the office!
Christina Yepes
CMCA
Christina joined Slatter Management in September 2022. She moved to North Carolina from Connecticut in 2019 where she was born and raised. Christina comes with 7 years of Multi-Family Housing experience in both Connecticut and North Carolina. She prides herself with being detailed oriented, having great organization skills and a strong customer service background. Christina is excited to further her education in Homeowner Association Management. With her friendly personality and strong problem-solving skills, she is confident in her ability to master her portfolio and provide the best service to her Boards and homeowners.
Marissa Interlandi
Marissa has been working at Slatter Management since June 2018. She holds an Associate degree in Applied Science for Early Childhood Education from 2011 and is certified and recognized by the NAEYC Accreditation Organization. Prior to joining Slatter Management, she worked as a Lead Preschool Teacher for six years. This experience helped her acquire valuable skills in leadership, teamwork, communication, time management, and creative problem-solving, which are proving to be beneficial in her current role as a Community Association Manager.
Stephanie Teeters
Stephanie joins the Slatter team with over 30 years of extensive leadership experience managing a diverse portfolio of single family, condominium, high-rise, multi-use, commercial, and townhome homeowner and property owner associations. She is a Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA), an Association Management Specialist (AMS), and a NC Notary Public. She studied at Appalachian State University, the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and the Dan Mohr School of Real Estate. In her free time, she enjoys singing, music, and spending time with her family, friends, and dogs.
Shaila Fleenor
Shaila Fleenor is a dedicated Community Manager in the BDD Development Department. She brings a wealth of experience from her diverse professional background. With a strong foundation in customer service and communication, Shaila excels at fostering positive relationships and ensuring community satisfaction.
Before her current role, Shaila worked as a realtor, where she honed her skills in client relations and negotiation. She also served as a rural carrier for the post office, demonstrating her commitment to hard work and reliability.
Having lived in several states, Shaila brings a broad perspective and adaptability to her role. She is new to North Carolina and is excited to explore and contribute to her new community.
In her free time, Shaila enjoys reading and spending time with her family and friends, which further enriches her ability to connect with people from all walks of life. Her dedication to excellence and passion for community building make her an invaluable asset in Community Management and the BDD Development Department.
Carmel Tajeddini
Carmel is a Greensboro native who earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. After spending eight adventurous years in Los Angeles, she returned to her roots in NC to reconnect with her family. With a strong foundation in the arts, customer service, marketing, and health & beauty, Carmel has cultivated a versatile skill set that allows her to be both adaptable and present—thriving in dynamic environments, responding thoughtfully to the needs of those around her, and bringing creativity to everything she does. As a natural problem solver, she approaches challenges with empathy and a solutions-oriented mindset that consistently drives positive outcomes. In her free time, Carmel loves to travel and try new foods wherever she goes.
