Kay joined Slatter Management Services, Inc. in November 2005 after relocating from London, England. Prior to Kay’s move to North Carolina she gained customer service and management experience as Sales Manager for a large hardware company. Since joining Slatter Management, Kay has acquired a wealth of community management knowledge and education. Kay has been awarded her CMCA, AMS and PCAM designations. Kay's experience as an Administrative Assistant, a Community Manager, and Director of Operations provides her with key insights into the industry and lays a solid foundation for her role of President.
Certified Manager of Community Associations, a Fellow of the British Institute of Risk Management and holds a U.S. BA Certification in Risk Management. Formerly Vice President of the Steven D. Bell and Company, Community Association Division, Terry and his wife Jill purchased the Division in May 2002. As principal of Slatter Management Services, Inc. Terry has enjoyed maintaining a leading edge role in Community Association Management. Terry currently serves as Past Chairman of the Central North Carolina Better Business Bureau and Past President of the Guilford Rotary Club of Greensboro.
Phyllis joined Slatter Management Services, Inc. in April 2002. She studied accounting at GTCC. She came to Slatter Management with 5 years experience of community management accounting and has been with the company for 12 years. She has received her CMCA certificate and is a Certified Manager of Community Associations, and has completed the M-100 course - The Essentials of Community Association Management, the M-206 course - Financial Management and the M-310 course - Management Company Administration.
Dean joined Slatter Management Services, Inc. in October 2005. Dean spent 10 years in Maintenance Management. His skills have provided Slatter Management with a skilled and professional maintenance team. Dean is also the manager of A-1 Pool Service, Inc., servicing private and commercial pools. Our NC Certified Pool Operators have over 30 years of combined experience providing hassle free year round, seasonal maintenance, repairs and pool supplies.
Megan Clapp joined Slatter Management in September of 2013. She moved to North Carolina in 2010 from California where she was born and raised. Megan has an Associate's Degree in Social Sciences and a Bachelor’s of Science Degree with a Specialization in Human Services from Northeastern University. She prides herself on customer service, problem solving, and teamwork. Megan leads the Slatter Team in training staff on new systems, policies, and procedures. She is always on top of new innovative ways to better our customer service for our Associations. Megan has served on several committees for the NC-CAI Chapter and continues to educate herself on the evolving HOA industry.
Jacqueline began her career with Slatter Management Services, Inc. in 2001, after obtaining an associate's degree in business and managing apartment communities for 10 years in which she earned her CAM. Jacqueline's solid organizational and time management skills, along with her unique skill set for problem solving is very beneficial for our communities.
Andrea joined Slatter Management in August 2009. She has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Andrea has extensive customer service experience through her work in hotel management and over 11 years in the community association industry. She received her CMCA license in April, 2011 and was the recipient of the '2011 Manager of the Year Award' presented during the 2011 Community Association Institute Annual Conference. Andrea has also served on CAI-NC Triad Chapter Council.
Mary joined Slatter Management in February 2016. She is a true people person and a Greensboro native. Mary brings with her to Slatter extensive experience in Customer Service gained through her service in Wholesale Distribution Sales, Account Management, and New Home Sales.
Carol graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Minor in Marketing. She has 20 plus years of customer service experience and Key Accounts Management and takes a hands on approach to Community Management. Carol has an eye for attention to detail and values relationship building
Jennifer joined Slatter in March of 2018. She has worked with the Multi-Family Department which has allowed her to gain experience in condominiums, townhomes and single family homes. Recently, Jennifer was appointed the onsite Property & Operations Manager for Lake Jeanette Association, Inc. Her experience and personality has shown she is able to adapt in any situation. Jennifer has worked as a producer for sports documentaries working with high profile clients. Her bubbly personality and smile can’t be missed!
Janine was raised in Virginia Beach, Virginia. After spending 13 years in the Cellular Industry as a District Manager, Janine changed career paths to the Association Management Industry. Janine has been in Association Management for 9 years and brings attention to detail and exceptional customer service to her portfolio of Associations. Janine has earned her CMCA, AMS designations and has successfully completed the M201, M203, and M206 classes. “No Excuses, No Explanations” -Tony Dungy.
Karie joined Slatter Management Services, Inc. in June 2018. She recently moved back from Syracuse, NY to be closer to her family. She came to Slatter Management with an extensive customer service background of 25 years ranging from retail, travel industry, Parks & Recreation, and medical call center. Prior to moving back to North Carolina, Karie trained in Emergency Communications. Karie is a dedicated team player and will extend her hand to help out in any area that she can. She loves working with the public and likes to preserve harmony in all situations. Karie continues to grow with Slatter Management and will continue to further her education in homeowner’s association management.
Latisha Spinks, a native of the Virginia tidewater area who attended Strayer University, moved to North Carolina in 2007. A graduate of Brookstone College of Business, she joined Slatter Management in September of 2019 with an extensive background in Medical Office Administration. Latisha brings with her to Slatter her comprehensive experience in customer service and customer engagement. She has been dedicated to her education within CAI, obtaining her CMCA in 2023. She strives in the fast-paced element of the HOA industry. Her ability to communicate and empathize with customers, as well as her determination, dedication and drive are amongst her strengths as her main goal is to always lend a hearing ear and a helping hand to whomever may need it.
Karen is a graduate of the University of Florida, Go Gators! She has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Resource Development and is a licensed Real Estate Agent in the state of North Carolina. One of her proudest moments is having worked as a civilian contractor for The Florida Army National Guard as a Budget Analyst supporting and taking care of our troops overseas. Karen joined Slatter in May 2022 with six years in property management and over 20 years in various customer service roles throughout her career. When not at work Karen is passionate about her family, cooking and the beach!
Emma joined SMS in July 2021 and is a British native having relocated to NC in 2001. Emma’s background in the real estate industry as a licensed NC Realtor brings a commitment to integrity, customer engagement and ethical responsibility. As a member of the SMS team of HOA community managers, she maintains her obligation to all the communities and boards she serves with dedication and pride, along with a sharp wit and sense of humor.
Sarah joined Slatter Management in October 2021. Sarah a Massachusetts native, moved to South Carolina in 2006 in which she studied the Culinary Arts at The Culinary Institute of Charleston and has since remained a Carolinian. Sarah has extensive customer service experience through her years spent in the culinary/hospitality industry and now 9 years in property management. Sarah’s eye for detail, ability to problem solve quickly and passion for serving others are a benefit to our communities. Sarah will continue to further her education in HOA management and growth within Slatter Management.
Nelsy joined Slatter Management Services Inc. in August of 2022. She has extensive customer service experience with a background in Residential Real Estate and Property Management. Her drive, determination, and attention-to-detail are just a few of the strengths that she has brought to her role as a Community Association Manager. Nelsy is all smiles in and out of the office!
Christina joined Slatter Management in September 2022. She moved to North Carolina from Connecticut in 2019 where she was born and raised. Christina comes with 7 years of Multi-Family Housing experience in both Connecticut and North Carolina. She prides herself with being detailed oriented, having great organization skills and a strong customer service background. Christina is excited to further her education in Homeowner Association Management. With her friendly personality and strong problem-solving skills, she is confident in her ability to master her portfolio and provide the best service to her Boards and homeowners.
Erica Whitaker is a native of Maryland and has resided in North Carolina ever since graduating from Shaw University with her bachelor’s in business management. She previously served as a Property Manager/Assistant Property Manager with RE Carroll Management. With more than 15+ years in customer service, she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from various areas including retail management, sales, property management (conventional and student housing), and banking. Her career also expanded into marketing and social media management in the medical community while managing public relations for 13 orthopedic surgeons in NC. Erica is skilled in customer-focused solutions and an overall committed team player. She’s committed to bringing value to the company and more importantly serving the customers.
